Location: Diamante Waterfall is located in the San Jose Province.  Located on a private property.

#2 - La Fortuna Waterfall

La Fortuna Waterfall is 75 meters high and is compleatly surrounded by dense rainforest. It is also known for its connection to the local Makeku Tribe. 

Price for admission: The price for this tour is $20 for adults.

Guide Required: No, a guide is not required to visit the waterfall.

Distance of Hike: The distance is about 500 meters or .31 miles to get to the waterfall. 

Length of the Tour: It takes about 15 minutes to get to the waterfall and about 30 minutes to get back from the waterfall.

Swimming Allowed: Yes, you can swim in La Fortuna Waterfall.

Location: La Fortuna Waterfall is located in La Fortuna and is a part of the Arenal Volcano National Park.

#3 - La Leona Waterfall

La Leona Waterfall is known for its uniqe adventure hike that requires swimming in order to reach the waterfall, its bright blue water and that it is the one waterfall complealty enclosed in a cave.

Price for admission: Prices begin at $30 for adults, but vary depending on which tour you choose to do. 

Guide Required: Yes, a guide is required for this hike. 

Distance of Hike: The hike is 2km each way or 1.5 miles each way. 

Length of the Tour: The total tour takes about 2.5-3 hours. 

Swimming Allowed: Yes swimming is allowed in the waterfall, and swimming is required in order to reach the waterfall. Life jackets are provided for all guests, so you can still attend even if you do not know how to swim. 

How to Visit: You can book a tour online. 

Location: La Leona Waterfall is located in the Guanacaste Province in the town of Curubande, just outside of Liberia.

#4 - La Paz Waterfall

This waterfall is known for the diverse variety of animals you can see while visiting and the 5 waterfalls included when visiting the Eco Lodge.

Distance of Hike: The hike is .8 miles each way. 

Length of the Tour: It takes a minimum of 2 hours to visit the entire Eco Lodge. 

Swimming Allowed: No, you cannnot swim in this waterfall.  

How to Visit: You can book tickets online to visit the Eco Lodge. 

Location: This waterfall is located in the Alajuela Province inside the La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park. 

#5 - Rio Celeste Waterfall

Rio Celeste Waterfall is known for its bright blue water and the unique staircase you must travers in order to reach the waterfall. 

Price for admission: For nationals and residents it is ₡800 for adults. For non-residents it is $12 for adults. 

Guide Required: No a guide is not requrired to reach the waterfall. 

Distance of Hike: If you do the entire hike at the National Park, the hike is about 3.7 miles or 6km.

Length of the Tour: It will take about 3 hours in total if you want to do the hike through the whole National Park.

Swimming Allowed: No swimming is not allowed at this waterfall. 

How to Visit: To visit this waterfall you will need to book tickets to enter the National Park online. 

 

Location: Rio Celeste Waterfall is located in the Alajuela Province inside the Tenorio Volcano National Park.
