Costa Rica is filled with numerous beautiful waterfall. We will be going though some of the most popular waterfalls in each province of Costa Rica. With this guide you won’t miss out on the amazing waterfalls right by you. All of the waterfalls below are broken down into each province of Costa Rica.
Alajuela Province
La Paz Waterfall
La Paz Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls in Costa Rica. This waterfall is located in the Ecological Wildlife Gardens. There are 4 other waterfalls to visit in this area as well.
La Fortuna Waterfall
La Fortuna waterfall is located in the Biological Reserve of the Arenal Volcano. At this waterfall you can swim in the pools below.
Cartago Province
Aquiares Waterfall
Aquiares Waterfall is located in the Aquiares Coffee Farm. This waterfall includes a 15 minute hike to reach the waterfall.
La Muralla Waterfall
This waterfall is 86 meters tall and is known for its refresting cool water. This waterfall can be more difficult to access but is worth going to visit.
Guanacaste Province
La Leona Waterfall
Visiting La Leona Waterfall includes a unique adventure hike unlike most waterfalls. This waterfall is compleatly enclosed in a cave you have giving it a unique feel.
Llanos de Cortez
This waterfall is known for being one of the best places to go swimming. The waterfall flows over a wall of rocks with the opprotunity to swim in the pool below.
Puntarenas Province
Uvita Waterfall
Uvita Waterfall creates a group of pools that are known for swimming and diving. It is also famous for its waterfall slide you can slide down to reach the pools below.
San Luis Waterfall
This is the second tallest waterfall in Cost Rica at 100 meters high. It is located in the Monteverde Cloud Forest.
San Jose Province
Diamante Waterfalls
This is the tallest waterfall in Costa Rica and is 200 meters tall. You can access this waterfall through guided tours. There are also incredible caves behind this waterfall to visit.
Nauyaca Falls
This waterfall is 65 meters tall and is made up of several smaller waterfalls that all join into one large waterfall.
