Here’s what your Rincon de la Vieja full-day tour might look like. Note that this is an example itinerary. River tubing will always be the first activity, but the exact order and timing of the other activities will be decided by the reception team on the day of your tour.
PART 1 • 📍 COLORADO RIVER
Meet your guide at our tubing tour base on the southern side of the volcano. After a short introduction to the day’s activities, you’ll get ready for river tubing on the Colorado River.
Rincon de la Vieja River Tubing

Join us on a wild ride through the volcanic river canyons of Rincon de la Vieja. Splash through Class I–III rapids down the Colorado River, accompanied by our experienced guides.
Between the rapids, you’ll paddle through calmer sections where you can enjoy the tropical forest and impressive rock formations around you.
Guides are positioned at every larger rapid to help you pass through safely. Young children are accompanied by a dedicated guide throughout the tubing tour.
After river tubing, follow us with a 30-minute drive to the Rincon de la Vieja adventure park on the northern side of the volcano. If you’re driving your own vehicle, simply follow your guide. If you booked the tour with transportation included, your driver will take you there.
PART 2 • 📍 RINCON DE LA VIEJA ADVENTURE PARK
Zip Lining Tour

Experience the stunning landscapes near Rincon de la Vieja Volcano from above as you fly above the tropical forest along seven zip lines.
The lines vary in length and speed, reaching heights of up to 150 m (490 ft) and offering incredible views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Before the zip lining course, you’ll receive a full safety briefing. Guides will receive you at each platform and securely attach you to the next line.
Horseback Riding

Enjoy a scenic horseback ride through the tropical forest and across open fields, with views of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano.
Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife: you might spot some monkeys, coatis or toucans.
All horses are calm, well trained and used to wildlife or cars passing by. You’ll be accompanied by two guides, and the horses know the route very well.
Costa Rica Jungle Water Slide

One of the main highlights of this tour is the ride on the longest jungle water slide in Costa Rica!
To reach this fun attraction, you’ll have to walk up a short uphill trail through the forest, but the experience is worth the effort. Rush down the 425 m (1,400-ft) water slide through the jungle and enjoy a refreshing break from the tropical heat.
A helmet and tube are provided, and staff will explain the correct body position before your ride.

How to Get to the Tour Starting Points
The One Day Adventure Pass takes place at two different locations.
River tubing begins on the southern side of the volcano at El Rincon Tours & Transportation, about 20 minutes from Liberia. The other activities take place at the Rincon de la Vieja adventure park on the northern side of the volcano, just a 30-minute drive away.
If you have your own vehicle, first drive to our river tubing tour base to meet your guide and start the first activity. After the tubing, simply follow your guide to the Rincon de la Vieja adventure park for the other activities. If you booked the tour with transportation included, your driver will take you to both tour locations.

A 4×4 vehicle is not required to get to our river tubing tour base or the Rincon de la Vieja adventure park, but drive carefully, as the road has some potholes.
1️⃣ From Liberia, drive north for about 5 km along Highway #1.
2️⃣ Turn right when you see signs pointing to Rincon de la Vieja National Park and continue for about 15 minutes.
3️⃣ Reach the village of Curubandé and continue straight, passing by the church.
4️⃣ After about 300 m you will find our tour office on your left, clearly marked with large signs.
