Please note that the La Leona Waterfall Cost Rica Hike is of moderate difficulty and is not advised for those with ankle, knee or mobility concerns. Additionally, due to the nature of the terrain and activities involved, it is not suitable for children under the age of 4 years old. During this hike you will walk across a diverse terrain, swim through rivers, climb up ladders, over rocks and more. During this hike, a seasoned tour guide will be by your side at all times, offering invaluable assistance and ensuring your safety along the way.

The Trail

The trek along the La Leona Waterfall Costa Rica Hike is about 2- kilometers each direction, with an elevation gain of 115m. Also anticipate spending approximately 2.5 to 3 hours immersed in nature.

The Swimming Sections

Though swimming is a component of visiting La Leona Waterfall Costa Rica, theres no need to worry if you are not a seasoned swimmer, swimming skills are not a prerequisite in order to attend. All guests are required to wear a life jacket regardless of your swimming skills for added safety. In addition there are ropes strategically placed across river crossings to offer additional support and assistance.

What to Bring

– Shoes with good grip; they must be closed toed or sandals with straps (no flip flops are allowed)

– Fitted clothes or a bathing suit under your clothes (The current can be strong in some areas and this helps ensure your clothes stay in place).

What to do With Your Belongings

– If you booked a tour with transportation included then you will be able to store your belongings in the vehicle that brought you to the tour and that vehicle will be attended to by the driver at all times.

– If you booked a self drive tour you will store any belongings you do not need while on the trail in your car or you can store small items in the lockers we have available.

Whats Included in the Tour

– Dry bag: we suggest that all you bring on the tour is you phone for photos and a water bottle, these can be stored in the provided dry bag to keep them safe during the swimming sections.

– Changing rooms, showers and bathrooms

– Life jackets: regardless of your swimming ability, life jackets are required for everyone attending the tour.

– Lockers: These lockers can store small bags and small items while you are on the tour. Any large luggage will need to be stored in your car.

– Tour guide: As a part of your tour, you will be assigned a tour guide to assist you for the duration of your tour.
